Cercis siliquastrum

In spring this small bushy tree is smothered in rosy-pink hanging blooms. The Judas Tree is a beautiful sight, and fascinating too, as the flowers grow straight out of the older wood, growing directly from the trunk or from mature branches. After the flowers come attractive heart-shaped leaves which turn a rich yellow in autumn. For best results, plant Cercis siliquastrum in moist, well-drained soil. Height and spread: up to 10m (32′).
